The City of Coronado offers learn to swim classes, private lessons, and a diving class.

Mommy & Me Swim Classes

For children ages 6 months to 3 years. Parent is in the water with the child. Kids will learn how to enter and exit the pool, pool safety rules, and basic swimming with parent assistance.

Preschool Swimming Classes

Children ages 3-5 learn to swim at their level. Level 1 has no prerequisites and focuses on water safety and comfort as well as swimming basics. Levels 2 and 3 teach more advanced swimming skills. In order to take a level 2 or 3 class, a student must have successfully passed the previous level or demonstrate the skills covered in that level.

Learn to Swim

Children ages 5 – 12 years can learn to swim in the 5 classes offered. Level 1 requires no previous experience and introduces children to water safety and swimming. Each subsequent level teaches more advanced swimming skills, with levels 4 and 5 dedicated to improving the child’s swim strokes. Children are tested the first day to determine which level of class they should participate in.

Private Swim Lessons

Private lessons are available for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Diving Classes

A diving class is offered for children ages 7-14 who have completed Level 3 or can demonstrate the equivalent swimming skills.
