Fishing Spots
There are two very different places to fish in the San Diego area. The first is the ocean – whether you go sport fishing on a boat, drop your line off the edge of a pier or try your hand at surf fishing. Halibut and bass are two of the most common types of fish you’ll catch.
Lakes and rivers are a great place to catch freshwater fish like trout. some local places even rent poles and teach kids how to fish.
Fishing License
Anyone over 16 years old needs a fishing license to fish. Don’t try to bring a child, bait his hook, help him cast and reel it in and then try to tell the ranger that you’re not fishing. You’ll get a ticket. You can get a one day license very inexpensively.
