Summer Camp
Summer is a great time for kids to learn and grow. Of course they need something to keep them busy when they’re out of school, especially if you have to work, but don’t just pick a summer camp based on that.

Summer day camps come in all possible flavors. Kids can go to traveling summer camps, junior lifeguard summer camps, movie making summer camps, art summer camps, basketball summer camps, cooking summer camps, summer surf camps, or almost anything else that catches their interest.
Kids can spend the whole summer at their favorite camp, or they can take it week by week trying out different activities.
If your child has a favorite extracurricular activity that they participate in year round, that organization may offer summer camps. Kids can brush up on their sports skills with a volleyball summer camp, band camp, space camp or a soccer skills camp. Do they just love their gymnastics teachers? The gym probably has summer camps.
If your child participate in social clubs like scouts, they probably have a summer camp. Churches often have summer camps that kids can attend whether or not you regularly attend that church.
Some camps are only offered for one week out of the summer. If your child is interested in a camp like this, sign up early. Then go looking for camps to fill up the rest of the summer. The best ones fill up, so don’t wait.
