Community Service

Volunteering is great for children as well as adults. They learn that giving back to the community is part of life. Sometimes it’s difficult to find volunteering opportunities for kids. Here are a few in the San Diego area.

Volunteer Opportunities

Kids can be of great help to all kinds of people. Many non-profits and other groups accept volunteer help from high school students who are at least 14  or 16 years old. Younger kids can help out in a lot of places, but only if their parents come along to supervise.

Volunteer Organizations

One of the best ways to volunteer is as part of a group. A group of kids with adult leadership can often choose almost any kind of volunteer work. Kids can put together a small performance for residents of a retirement home, make blankets or collect food or clean up a beach. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are pro at this.
